St. George’s University invites applicants for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology role, in the Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology (ANPH) department in the School of Veterinary Medicine
Job Description
SGU-SVM is looking for a suitable candidate who is a strong team player and interested in developing productive research, teaching, and service programs that can integrate with activities of other departments across SGU campus.
Objective
+ Serve as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology within the ANPH Department.
+ Contribute to the department's scholarly activities, including research and teaching within the DVM program.
Instructional Responsibilities
+ Assist in teaching body system modules during the first and second spirals of the DVM curriculum, with an emphasis on Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology.
Integration across ANPH disciplines is expected.
+ Oversee the development and administration of the department's postgraduate degree programs.
Supplemental Teaching
+ Contribute to core and elective course instruction across the DVM, graduate, and pre-veterinary programs.
+ Participate in Integrated Team Instruction, focusing on small-group, collaborative learning methods.
+ Engage in teaching Professionalism and Clinical Skills as part of the broader curriculum.
Research and Scholarly Activities
+ Promote and support research initiatives among faculty and graduate students within the ANPH Department and through interdisciplinary collaboration with other schools.
+ Provide mentorship to faculty and graduate students, especially junior faculty, fostering development in teaching, research, and postgraduate programs (MSc and PhD).
Service
Actively participate in university service, including:
+ Faculty meetings and committee work as assigned by the Dean.
+ Administrative duties as designated by the Department Chair or Dean.
+ Outreach efforts within local and regional communities.
+ Academic advising for students in the DVM program.
General Expectations
+ Foster a supportive learning environment and maintain student engagement in alignment with the SVM Faculty Handbook.
+ Uphold and promote the policies and procedures of St. George's University.
Qualifications
+ A DVM (or equivalent degree) and an MSc are required.
+ PhD and Board certification in Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology are desirable.
+ Demonstrated excellence in teaching Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology.
+ Proven research track record, including success in mentoring students in research.
+ Strong interpersonal, leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

+ This is a full time position in the Caribbean island of Grenada.
